PhotoHunt: Garbage

The PhotoHunt theme this week is "Garbage"

This is what the Hubs and I have spent the better part of the last few months' worth of weekends digging out from under. No, it's not our house, but my in-laws'. The MIL wouldn't let anyone touch a damn thing in there, while she was alive. When she passed away at the end of January, we saw our opportunity.

But wait! There's more...

Would you believe there's a couch, coffee table, and end table under there?

Twenty years, and we had no idea that we would be doing archaeological excavations in a 6th floor condo! Click on the images for details - if you dare!

I'm attempting to update the look of this blog, and it's not happening quite the way - or as easily - as Flamingo Musings, so please bear with me!

That is amazing. I'm worried that our home is getting to that stage. Great collection for this week's theme.

And I thought I was a pack rat!

I feel your blog changes pains. I still have a few to go through on the Restaurant, but will put it off a couple of months.

Ever seen "Seven Dumpsters and a Corpse"? It is a very witty (if morbid) documentary about two brothers who were faced with the same, though infinitely worse, situation after their mother died. Their mother actually owned TWO houses, one in Switzerland and the other in Greece.

I was horrified by some of the things they simply threw in the dumpsters but faced with the same situation, I can't say I would do much differently.

Another documentary I saw was called "Vinyl" about people who obsessively collect records. When I turned it on, there was one fellow in Toronto who was getting rid of his collection.

He was throwing HUNDREDS of LPs in a dumpster. Apprently, he wanted rid of them but the thought of anyone possessing them was too much to bear so he threw them in the dumpster.

I was horrified.

My horror compounded when the camera pulled away and I discovered that this guy was my best friend's brother! I called my friend and told him to berate his brother soundly for me!

We've just been through a similar process. It's amazing, isn't it, as we rediscover such odd things?
